Strange and Unusual Stuff

There's a lot of strange and unusual stuff out there that I just don't have a home for on my website. So, I've created this page as a kind "catchall" for things I find interesting but just can't categorize...

Strange Cake

Wendell - 03-23-2014 I found this strange cake in the grass at a trailhead for a popular hiking area just west of Denver. The cake was made of frosting (over a cardboard cone), raw eggs, and pennies. The note attached to it, in Spanish, said, "Andrea gets to work, sweeten your character and find love" (Para que Andrea consiga trabajo, endulce su caracter y encuentre el amor). I'd appreciate hearing from anybody who can tell me what this is all about - is it some kind of tradition, celebration, or what?

Nude climber art in Silt, Colorado

Wendell - 03-23-2014 In addition to having had friends in Silt, I also stopped there a lot for my regular commute between the Denver area and Grand Junction. In 2009 I couldn't help noticing (and photographing!) this strange bit of art in the turnabout immediately off Interstate 70 as I entered town. This bit of art also gained national attention as well - appearing in a number of news broadcasts and other media around the country at that time...
