Hey! This is just my personal page about my own great experience(s) at Champ Camp.

Todd Felix (with a ton of assistance from Larry DeSaules) pretty much organized and ran the climbing portion of "Champ Camp" the years I was inovled (I'll post my July 15 - 21, 2012 pix as time permits...). Champ Camp is a wonderful environment for children with asthma to have a great camp experience while learning to gain control and confidence over an inflammatory condition that effects their lungs and breathing. Champ Camp usually takes place at Glacier View Ranch - a peaceful retreat nestled in the forests of the Rocky Mountains near Ward, Colorado.

Although I don't know much about asthma and its triggers, I remain highly critical of what our "modern" society has done to the air, water, and land all around us - certainly soot, smog, ozone, and chemicals can't be good for kids with asthma or anyone else who simply wants to breath clean air. Okay, enough of my soapbox...

Anyway, I am grateful that Todd and Larry continued to invite me to help with a week of climbing sessions for these kids - not only is it great fun for the kids, but I believe a good learning experience for us volunteers as well - thank you!

Note: There's a heck of a lot more to Champ Camp than what you see here - Cindy, Galen, and a host of volunteers and staff provide all kinds of great activities and learning sessions for the kids through-
         out the week. Since I mostly help out on "Baboon Rock" (the outdoor climbing area) I don't get a chance to photograph as much of the other activities as I would like to but am sure you get the idea!
